Some other paintings I did in 2020 include a painting of a lady wearing a mask. This painting was inspired by a screenshot that I took of a classical music concert that was being broadcast on Youtube so that those who were in quarrantine were able to continue enjoying the arts. She was standing on the stage, socially-distanced from other performers, singing with her mask on. I thought it was such an interesting image.

I am not so happy with her. I like how I have painted her mask, but her arm needs work, and I need to add more to her dress. Hands are awful. Her face is ok, but I think one eye is in the wrong place! WIP.
I have also been trying to paint a landscape of a frozen river. I started it in January, took a long break from it, attacked it and then decided to stop working on it. Colours are interesting, but I'm not so happy with it.

I like how I have painted the land in the horizon. Some strong lines are ruining the frozen river, and the foreground seems so flat compared to the rest of the image.
My latest painting is a watercolour! I painted it on the spurr of the moment for my aunt's birthday. She had sent me a picture of her cat, Gomez. I hadn't done a watercolour for more than a year, so I decided to give it another go. I am quite happy with the end result!

Gomez has, in actual fact, very dark, tortoise-shell coloured fur. Despite not caputring his natural colours, I think I did a nice job with his face.
